special edition post: project runway recap!!!
sooo of course i was right - and mikey was wrong, you should know better by now that the leader is always right. christian siriano, my fav from the get-go, won last night… WOOHOO! (mikey thought it was gonna be jillian, who i liked too since she hails from STRONG ISLAND like booboo). honestly i should bet on these things since i’m always right. last year i knew jeffrey was going to win (talk about a reincarnated better version of jean paul gaultier!) and i heard they even had bets on this stuff in vegas. additionally, i actually thought jeffrey’s collection from last year was better than christian’s… regardless, christian is RIDICULOUSLY TALENTED and i can’t believe he’s only 21 yrs old… geez louise, what was i doing at 21? :-/
i LOVED his collection since it reminded me so much of VAMPIRE HUNTER D (a classic japanimation for sure, yes it’s cheesy - but iconic if you ask me). D had the best freakin’ style. he had a hat that was only slightly smaller than what you saw on the runway, and of course that demon that talked to him through his hand, and a smashing coat with tight chaps (ok not really chaps but you get my point). in one word, vampire hunter D was *FIERCE* or as my idol posh said last night - shit i can’t remember but it was the british equivalent of FIERCE. i totally agreed w/ michael kors (who, by the way, is SO a gay version of will ferrell) that christian could have used more pops of color (ask booboo! i said the same exact thing during the runway show). besides that, the look was so sexy-masculine-feminine chic and i totally dug it.
people are so silly when they wonder why the person with the most “wearable” collection doesn’t win. hellooo it’s called a fashion SHOW with the operative word being SHOW. we want fabulous, darling! we want inspired fantasy that we can re-interpret into our dreary real lives! yes nobody but models and 88-pound posh can wear this shit, but still, we can imagine that we can win mega millions and lose half our weight to be her! (one of my favorite quotes from victoria beckham’s coming to america special was “it’s hard work being this fabulous!”) people hate her but i dig her and she cracks me up. some people just don’t get fabulousness. yeah she doesn’t smile all the time but who would with light bulbs going off in their face when yer trying to teeter around on 5″ christian louboutins???
anyhoo the moral of the story is that i’m always right, so read me and believe me and say “damn, susan was right!” to yourself later on while you ponder stuff late at night…
