Teaching the tasteless everywhere

Hating China

Is turning into some sort of inane American sport during the Olympics.  Even during the run up to the Olympics it was getting bad.  After all China was to blame for our skyrocketing gas prices, nevermind the fact that the state of California uses more gas than the entire nation of China.  Then there was the pollution issue, where eminent scientists said the incredible pollution in China would literally kill our athletes.  That didn’t happen either.  All that happened was we looked like a bunch of whiny bitches when our athletes were the only nations’ that arrived wearing breathing masks.  Now they’re saying the pollution in China and Asia in general is causing our own skies to be polluted.  Interesting considering that the US is still the largest polluter in the world.  It all reminds me of something a great philosopher once said

‘Only the white man can profit from pain.’ - Chris Rock

heheheh, but seriousy, in case you need that spelled out for you.  The US has long profited from sucking the natural resources of the planet dry and polluting it in the process.  Now we try to deflect attention from ourselves by blaming other countries during an event meant to bring us all together.  How low we’ve fallen.

i find this bit to be hilarious:

“where eminent scientists said the incredible pollution in China would literally kill our athletes. That didn’t happen either.”

these same eminent scientists are also predicting global warming :) what do i always say about scientists? they’re just hypothesizing (aka guessing)!
